His Wings 03:39
Oh my soul, sing my soul, you’ve been rescued by the King Oh my soul, sing my soul, he scattered your enemies Like wind to leaves, like wind to leaves Scattered like the wind to leaves Oh my soul, be not afraid, of the terror by night Or those who wish you harm, His right hand it holds you tight His eye is upon you, and He has the strongest arm The very strongest arm Oh my soul, hope in peace, fear the Lord you saints and children The Lord is near, our Lord is near, and His justice is with Him And healings in His wings, and healings in His wings Healing is in His In His Healing is in His Wings We praise Your name Lord We praise Your name till the day we die, the day we die We praise Your name Lord We praise Your name when we’re lifted up, up on high

Testify 04:33
I used to steal from me father, spit in the face of my mother, sell drugs to my sisters and brothers Looking out for me was the one thing that made me happy, Lord I’m not happy no more Now I’ve been doing same thing for so long, how can I change, I need a change of pace This whole worlds got me confused, in this place that used to be my home Now I’ve got no home, and I’m fully grown, standing all alone I’m gonna reap just what I’ve sown Oh Lord I need something in my life, I’m so tired of losing every fight Oh Lord I need You in my life, come on down and meet me hear tonight It’s alright In Your light Me and You find, that we can bring these walls down together in time Me and You find, that we can bring these walls down together in time Now I’m making my way through the wasteland, got nothing to hold but the Lord's hand He give me strength so I can stand Through the fire, and through the rain, through temptations, and the devils games, their all the same All I know is that I’ve been changed By every little thing you do inside my life makes me a new man and I’ve got to thank you From the bottom of my heart Every little thing you do inside my life makes me a new man and I’ve got to thank you Thanks you Father once again, and again, and again You and me find, that we can bring these walls down together in time Me and You find, that we can bring these walls down together in time I know that You’ll be there, I know You will, in the sun or rain I know that You’ll be there, I know You will, in the sun or rain, Oh

You ever walk a mile with a man, got these sticks in our hands, moving over broken land Across the deserts and the sand, wasteland, to understand the command and the difference Of the body, mind, flesh, soul, spirit, now tell me if you hear it You could tell me if you fear it, please brother move near it, don’t let your dark conscience clear it Please brother move near it don’t let your dark conscience clear it I’m talking about the whispers of the Holy Spirit I woke up I’ve had enough of all the fists and the cuffs and prostitutes bluffs And addictions that never get enough, now the snakes in the rough and heals on his head Please Lord just crush it, and the venom out my veins, I’ve got a vision in my brain Mental attack, flashback, half forgotten event, fade to black, warped and bent Represents the arrangement of connections in my mind It’s the mind of a man soulfully seeking signs, elevated over rhyme, and outside space and time And if your third eyes blind than you might just miss it, but don’t miss it Like a ship in the dark looking for a house of light And like a man with is hands asking heaven for a fight Now the pen is on the paper but we don’t know how to write Have mercy on on, cause I believe You’re the one, the son, who’s come to set up free Have mercy on on, cause I believe You’re the one, the son, who’s come to set up free But I’ve still questions, for Him Can anything be everything if everything is hollow, or does living have a reason that put off until tomorrow Now I’m riding round the bends to the bones of the marrow, finding sorrow with the joy Like a boy who’s been beat, slashed, torn, and warned not to tell the truth But now my souls informed and putting it to use Let’s diffuse, I want to diffuse, the humanistic time bomb compromising truth Buried alive in their scientific proofs, uncouth evolving sayers of sooth Have lost their curriculum, agenda, and proof For the love that’s living in me, and for the dreams that nobody sees For the broken soul on bended knee and the God that’s gonna answer him powerfully You see, you and me, we don’t amount to much, self-centered intellect is not a power but a crutch Losing touch, with God's reality, taking comfort in manmade philosophy’s Thinking it’s a speciality, most time fatality, who’s next on the docket Have mercy on on, cause I believe You’re the one, the son, who’s come to set up free Have mercy on on, cause I believe You’re the one, the son, who’s come to set up free

Down on my knees, praying please have mercy now Christ my shelter in a world that tries to drag me down Open your mind, open your heart, open up your soul Jesus come in, and make a broken man whole Rise up in glory, raise your hands to the risen King He’s God Almighty, listen to His children sing Let them sing Hallelujah, to our King Hallelujah, ruler over everything, children sing Hallelujah, to our King Hallelujah, ruler over everything Carry the cross, carry the shame, carry the love We don’t belong here, but to the Father above Jesus in heaven, and Jesus in hell below Paid for our sins, broken body with the red blood flows Rise up in glory, raise your hands to the risen King He’s God Almighty, listen to His children sing Let them sing Hallelujah, to our King Hallelujah, ruler over everything, children sing Hallelujah, to our King Hallelujah, ruler over everything In this world you will have trouble, but Jesus overcame the world And our body is His temple, and we will worship forevermore Listen to His children sing Hallelujah, to our King Hallelujah, ruler over everything, children sing Hallelujah, to our King Hallelujah, ruler over everything

Freedom 05:00
Mhmm... Mhmm… Mhmm…say hey yeah Mhmm... Mhmm… Mhmm…say hey yeah Professional or beginner doesn’t matter, every sinner is a prisoner in a body that is subject to time Now, my untwined mind tries to form a straight line, not like twisted scoliosis of the spinal cord Construct, cross eyed carpenters are cuttin' crooked lines, can't construct Man-made shrines when the winds and the water move sands of time Many minds on a deadline, yet live life like a live wire, I’m not tired, of blood and fire Spirit's moving higher than the green grass ever lifted me, spirit's moving higher... Than anything else ever lifted you, see We got spirituality, it’s living in us like one in three Injustice is concerning me, in the non-linear eternity I'm speaking paradoxically, but you can nod your head now when you understand me This is for my free men, whose backs won't bend in the lion's den, with their eyes on the ending, and This is for my free women, who fight with their love, the bearers of our children Free men whose backs won't bend in the lion's den, now with their eyes on the end and This is for my free women, who fight with their love the bearers of our children We, shine like lights exposing what lies underneath decomposing Unearth those chains that are rusted, Oh my God, is that what i trusted in? That sin? That tomfoolery? Ugh! What it is is mental jewelry that I adorned myself with The enemy's gifts, the man-made myths, the ignorant bliss of marijuana spliffs and alcoholic fifths I got so sick and tired of it Delivered and redeemed, by Christ i mean It's time to start livin’, and get a reason for the rhyme I don’t wanna be dead-wrong on the deadline, standing on the dark side and all out of time... Like a blind pantomimes fantasized climb up his own ladder to the sunshine Nothin's mine that hasn't been given, and no one's alive here that hasn't been risen For nineteen years i was trapped in a prison Fiending my escape by means of derision But every man-made attempt just failed when trapped in a jail of my own guilt, shame, and iniquity I was looking for freedom How do I find freedom from all of this? He said believe, He said believe son Who are You telling me to believe? He said “I’m your Christ” So I believed Freedom Mhmm... Mhmm… Mhmm…say hey yeah Mhmm... Mhmm… Mhmm…say hey yeah

Restless soul, turning leaf Tomorrows unknown mysteries I'm leaving here, I end up where Into the unknown we fly We said there's no time to waste So hand in hand we run this race Let's end it well, escape them fires of hell Wander all our lives, till we're gone Pick up sticks and pack your bags let's go Where things grow, in the hills in summer time Under trees and over streams we walk and we talk All our days, into the night Into the unknown we fly And our hearts are beating And our feet they've got a long long way to go And our souls want to shine Can't you feel it from your head to your toes Touching down we're breaking through To a land that seems brand new to you and me And God makes three Lost and now we're found again This place playin' it's tricks on me Help me down from a strangers tree There's beauty here, but I miss it there Trace my path in wind and snow And our hearts are beating And our feet they've got a long long way to go And our souls want to shine Can't you feel it from your head to your toes And I thank the Lord, for everything He's done And I thank my Father, for sending us His son And I thank that Spirit, for helping us be one Helping us be one, out there on the run

Wait 03:26
First time looked in your eyes, girl I lost my mind Thinking you’re the one, why’d I jump the gun I want you, just to smile, yeah it’s true We could live so sweetly I could, spend my days with you I shouldn’t love you, I don’t know, but I do Hold your breath for me now, I won’t be long Hold that heart for me now, I’m coming home, now Na na na Next time looked in your eyes, I break down and cried I almost lost the one, Lord what have I done I waited, all my lifetime, for you I am yours completely, lay down my life for you I always love you, Michelle, you know it’s true Hold your breath for me now, I won’t be long Hold that heart for me now, I’m coming home Hold your breath for me now, I won’t be long, oh yeah Hold that heart for me now, I’m coming home, now Na na na

about

"Early Work, Vol.2" is the second installment in Josh Garrels "early work" series. "Volume One" gave us a remix & re-release of his early recordings, but "Volume Two" is comprised of brand new, 2020 studio recordings of a some of Josh's older, out of print material. Long overdue, this release includes updated versions of fan favorites such as "Freedom", "Restless Ones" & "Children's Song", while also offering some deep cuts with "His Wings", "Wait" and a 2020 remix of "New Day".
